Orion Children's Community Blog
In June 2015 I travelled to the Kaluga region as a volunteer at the amazing Orion Children's Community. I created this blog during my stay to share my experiences with family and friends back home...
Kitezh Children’s Community consists of two villages: Kitezh and its sister community, Orion. Kitezh and Orion are non-profit communities of foster families whose aim is simple: to give abandoned or orphaned children a real chance in life. Founded on the principles of therapeutic education, and care for nature, the communities are located in rural Kaluga region, south of Moscow.
I stayed with the Orion Community. Orion Children’s Community was founded in 2004, 12 years after Kitezh Children's Community was formed, and is located 60km South-West of Moscow. There are around 20 adults and 30 children living in Orion. To find out more about my experience and this wonderfully caring community click on each of the yellow date buttons below.
